A great place to raise kids, Golden Valley is served by two award-winning school districts, as well as the Perpich Center for Arts Education and Breck, one of the best private schools in the area.

Over 1,035 acres within the city limits are dedicated to green space, including 9 community parks, 11 neighborhood parks and 11 nature areas — all connected to an extensive trail system that passes through ponds, a winding creek and picturesque golf courses. You’ll find endless opportunities with almost 50 miles of trails, multiple ball fields, courts and other activity areas.

Fun Fact

No one is quite sure how Golden Valley got its name. Was it named for golden daffodils dotting the hillside, acres of wheat glimmering in the sun, or did Irish immigrants name the village after the Golden Vales of Shannon? We may never know for certain!
